MORE INFORMATION

Concrete catch basins are critical for collecting and directing stormwater runoff from roads, parking lots, and other paved surfaces. They are designed to capture debris and sediment, preventing them from entering the storm sewer system and helping to maintain water quality.

Concast offers a diverse selection of concrete catch basins and ditch inlets, designed to meet the needs of various drainage applications while ensuring durability and efficient performance. These products are engineered with high-quality concrete, making them reliable components in stormwater management systems.

BENEFITS

  • Available with many appurtenances, such as goss traps, flexible pipe-to-CB connectors, inserts for inlet control devices, and various steel grates.

Concrete Catch Basins

  • Nominal Inside Dimensions: Our concrete catch basins are available in several standard sizes to suit different project requirements:
    • 600 x 600mm
    • 600 x 840mm
    • 600 x 1450mm
  • Monolithic Base: All catch basins come with a monolithic base, meaning the base is cast as a single, solid piece. This design ensures enhanced structural integrity and reduces the risk of cracks or separations over time, ensuring long-lasting performance.
  • Standard Depth of Bury: The standard depth of bury for precast catch basins is up to 4 meters to the base. This depth is suitable for most standard applications. However, we also provide designs for deeper installations, addressing specific site conditions or additional load-bearing requirements.
  • Section Heights: Catch basin sections are available in standard heights, which can be adjusted in 150mm increments. This flexibility allows for easy adaptation to various project depths, ensuring that the catch basin is properly aligned with the surrounding grading or roadway surface.
  • Stackable Sections: Catch basin sections are designed to be stacked, allowing for greater flexibility in depth and installation. The sections are equipped with tongue and groove joints, providing a secure and stable connection between sections, preventing misalignment and ensuring structural integrity.

Concrete Ditch Inlets

Concrete ditch inlets serve as critical components in managing water flow along ditches or swales, capturing surface water before it enters stormwater drainage systems. These inlets are designed to handle high flow rates and effectively control erosion, especially in areas where water runoff is more concentrated.

Nominal Inside Dimensions: Our concrete ditch inlets come in several sizes, providing versatility for different types of drainage projects:

600 x 600mm

600 x 1200mm

1800 x 900mm

  • Monolithic Base: Like our catch basins, all concrete ditch inlets feature a monolithic base, which provides superior strength and durability. This solid base construction is crucial in ensuring that the inlet remains stable and functional over time, even under heavy water flow conditions.
  • Sloped Tops: Concrete ditch inlets are equipped with various sloped tops to match most grading plans. These slopes help direct water efficiently into the inlet, preventing pooling or backflow, and ensuring that the system works effectively under a range of grading conditions.
  • Standard Depth of Bury: Ditch inlets are also designed with a standard bury depth of up to 4 meters, which can be adjusted to suit deeper applications. Custom designs for greater depths or different live load conditions can be provided, making them adaptable to a wide range of site-specific needs.

Customization Options and Applications

While the standard dimensions and features of our concrete catch basins and ditch inlets are suitable for most applications, Concast offers a high degree of customization to meet the specific needs of your project.

  • Deeper Installations: For sites requiring deeper installations, we can provide catch basins and ditch inlets designed for depths greater than the standard 4 meters. These products are engineered to maintain structural integrity and meet local design requirements for deeper burial.
  • Live Load Conditions: We understand that different projects may require the handling of varying live load conditions, such as heavy traffic or vehicular weight. Concast can design catch basins and ditch inlets with enhanced load-bearing capacity, ensuring that your drainage infrastructure remains reliable even in high-traffic areas or locations with substantial environmental stress.

Benefits of Using Concast Precast Concrete Products

  1. Durability and Longevity: Our catch basins and ditch inlets are made from high-strength concrete, providing resistance to environmental wear and tear, traffic load, and corrosion. They are built to last, offering long-term performance in any drainage system.
  2. Quick and Easy Installation: Precast concrete products allow for faster and more efficient installation compared to cast-in-place alternatives. The sections are delivered ready to be set in place, reducing construction time and minimizing on-site disruption.
  3. Customization and Flexibility: With a range of sizes and adjustable section heights, as well as custom designs available for deeper or higher-load applications, Concast ensures that every product meets the unique needs of your project. Our design flexibility makes it easy to integrate these drainage solutions into both standard and complex drainage systems.
  4. Cost-Effective: The ability to stack sections and adjust heights in 150mm increments allows for a cost-effective solution that minimizes the need for custom fabrication or extensive site preparation.

If you require Goss Traps or Grates, we are also have these readily available.

Whether you are working on a standard stormwater management system or a more complex installation requiring specific design features, our precast products provide reliable, high-performance solutions for managing surface water runoff and maintaining the integrity of your drainage infrastructure.
